The Management of Excess Soils regulatory package for the province of Ontario was issued in December, 2019 by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks - and it is one of the most comprehensive soil regulation packages in the world.

Many of the requirements of the new regulatory package came into force on January 1, 2021, while many of the remaining requirements will come into effect on January 1, 2022.
